What’s the best student credit card?

Posted on May 22nd, 2010

What is the best student credit card.  Well, let’s see, it’s probably the one that costs nothing to own, allows you to spend loads of money and hardly pay back any with no interest.  Am i right?  Well i can’t guarantee that i’ve found that card for you, but there are one or two that might help you a little…

The Natwest student credit card won’t offer you the sort of things that you’ll get from regular credit cards like: 0% interest on balance transfers for 12 months and 0% on purchases either.  And you won’t get a fantastic APR either, you’ll get 18.9%.

But then having a stundent credit card isn’t about these benefits is it?  It’s about the rewards.  That’s what all the stundents want these days, a good reward credit card and a good, reasonably healthy (but not too unbelievable) credit card limit.

Well with the Natwest credit card for students you’ll be able to get it quite easily if you are a student and you don’t have a regular income.  I think you’ll have to provide evidence of student loan income or parental funding, depending on what’s the highest.  But the point is that most students qualify when they don’t have a job, and a student credit card is about the only card that you will get without having a job!

It’s also quite realistic in its limits and only offers students a credit card limit of £500.  This is more than enough for the average student and it should cover all those emergency pot noodles and things like that when they’re required.

They also offer great discounts on various brands, websites and stores too.  Just don’t forget to have the balance paid off at the end of the month because the interest will kill you eventually!
